"The Prototype Arrives - Are You Ready?"
presented by Bob Potock, Vice President of Marketing, Kozio

...Probably not. Surprisingly, many engineers admit that they do not thoroughly test the prototype because of intense time pressure and lack of tools.  The arrival of the embedded design prototype can be one of the most exciting and stressful times in any product development life cycle.  There is no escaping it.  Design processes may vary company to company, but all design processes converge at the prototype.  Poor design verification practices manifest themselves in unexplained system crashes, hardware / software finger pointing, and delayed releases.  Statistics indicate that in 2011, 52.1% of all 32 embedded designs were late to market.

This keynote will explore current design verification methods and introduce new best practices.  One of the emerging trends is the adoption of a special purpose verification and test operating systems (VTOS) for design verification.  We will discuss how combining VTOS with verification best practices, empowers the hardware engineer to quickly verify a new design for correctness and production readiness in days.  Hardware engineers can confidently hand-off the prototype to the software team and get back on schedule.
