System Engineering of Automotive Electronic Controls with Model-Based Design
presented by Wensi Jin, MathWorks Automotive Industry Manager

System engineering deals with the design of complex products and management of the design process. Since its inception, Model-Based Design has played an important role in improving automotive systems engineering practices. This presentation reviews trends in and the current state of system engineering of automotive electronic controls with Model-Based Design.  Topics include design optimization, architecture, verification and validation, and certification.

About the speaker:  Wensi Jin is the automotive industry manager at MathWorks.  He is responsible for supporting industry adoption of Model-Based Design and MathWorks tools. Prior to joining MathWorks, Wensi worked on real-time simulation and hardware in-the-loop test systems, first as an applications engineer then as a business development manager. He also worked as a development engineer on automatic transmissions control systems at GM Powertrain.  Wensi holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
